08:00 Pick up at the port outside, we will depart to Hue to visit the Citadel, Hue’s prime attraction, which contains the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Emperor’s Private Residence. Hue Citadel was built from 1804 to 1833 under the Nguyen Dynasty (the last feudalist kingdom in Vietnam).
The grounds of the Imperial City are protected by 2-kilometer fortified ramparts and ringed by a moat. Inside the Citadel, there are many different construction works such as: Imperial City Gates, Purple Forbidden City, Temples and places of worshipping, pavilions, gardens, etc.
We will have a short break for lunch then take a boat trip on the Perfume River with a stopover at Thien Mu Pagoda, which is an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601. One of its most poignant displays is a car belonging to a former monk, who in 1963, drove to Sai Gon and set himself alight to protest against the South Vietnamese regime and its cruel treatment of Buddhist monks and followers.
We finally visit the serene Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, designed to blend in with its natural surroundings and built on principles of feng-shui.

I. History of Cu Lao Cham Islands
Cham islands are supposed to be the first place where Cham people landed, coming to Quang Nam Province from Indonesia (small monuments, dikes, and basin to grow rice on terraces are hidden in the forest, the 17th-century pagodas and small temples in the two villages).
Therefore, being well-known since earlier Cham domination (from 4th to 14th century), the island became one of the main ports of Champa Kingdom. Situated some eight miles offshore Hoi An, it was also part of Hoi An historical international trading. From the 15th century till the beginning of 20th century, the old city was a meeting point for international vessels and junks.
According to archaeologists, Cu Lao Cham first settled there 3,000 years ago and established business contacts with external countries some 1,000 years ago. Up to now, Cu Lao Cham has preserved many architectural constructions which date back to the 18th and 20th century. They include the shrine dedicated to Than Yen Sao, built in 1843 at Bai Huong and Hai Tang Pagoda, built in 1753 on the western hillside of Hon Lao.
Still, Cu Lao Cham has more to offer. After a three-hour canoe trip, one may hop over to the famed Well of the Cham people.
II. Topography of Cu Lao Cham Nature Reserve
The topography of Cu Lao Cham Island is dominated by two peaks: a 517m peak in the centre of the island and a 326m peak at the western end. Natural forest here covers 532 ha of the nature reserve, equivalent to 35% of the total area, while plantation forest covers a further 30 ha.
Cham island comprises an archipelago of one large island and seven smaller islands: Hon Dai, Hon Lao, Hon Kho Me, Hon La, Hon Kho Con, Hon Ong, Hon Tai, Hon Mo. The largest island of them is Hon Lao, which covers 1,317 ha and has a circular shape at the height of 500m. There are nice beaches at Bim and Ong beach.

III. Biodiversity Values
The island is a place where shelter for value swallow birds. The natural vegetation of the islands is a lowland evergreen forest, that is natural with a lot of woods and rare animals.
Scientists report the occurrence of macaques Macaca sp., monitor lizards Varanus sp. and pythons Python sp. To date, 265 vascular plant species have been reported from Cu Lao Cham nature reserve. Furthermore, a species of swiftlet Collocalia sp. is reported to nest on Hon Kho within the nature reserve.
Cu Lao Cham is also home to salanganes, birds whose nests have long been considered a delicacy by aristocrats and the wealthy. The nests may cost as much as US $4,000 per kilogram. On a beautiful day, tourists are able to see cliffs where salanganes build their nests and talk with salangane-nest takers.
Around the island has a lot of color corals under the water. Situated in a salty-water area, this square-bottom well, amazingly, provides clear freshwater all year round. Visiting Cu Lao Cham, tourists have a chance to view the sea swallows’ nests clinging to the towering cliffs. 1. Hai Tang Pagoda
Built in 1758, this pagoda worshipped Bodhisattva, Buddha, sea god and local god. In the past, there was a storm attacking the pagoda so in 1848, local people decided to reconstruct and redecorate it. Now, it is 200 m away from its original location.
Hai Tang Pagoda lies on the foot of Hon Lao Island’s west mountain and is opposite a small valley in Cham Island. Hai means the sea and Tang means Tipitaka, which is a Buddhisst holy books containing Buddha’s words.

2. Cham people’s Ancient Well
This well was dug 2 hundreds years ago by Cham people but until now, it still works well and the locals can use its fresh water. 3. Temple of Bird’s Nest Business Founders
Erected in the early 19th century, this temple is used to worship the bird’s nest business’s founders. The gods of the sea are also worshipped here, which is similar to Hai Tang Pagoda. 1. Hue Imperial Citadel
Without a doubt, the most impressive and best thing to do in Hue is a visit to the Imperial City. In the walled Hue Imperial City, also known as the Citadel, you will find the Forbidden Purple City, dozens of royal tombs, pagodas, temples, royal rooms, a library and a museum.

4. Hai Van Pass

Bach Ma National Park is an old French hill station that extends over 40,000 hectares and offers great hiking trails, dilapidated French villas, waterfalls, a campsite and lots of wildlife.
The best way is to go on a Bach Ma national park trekking tour through the forest. There are several routes to choose from. The nicest routes bring you along some small lakes and waterfalls. Also make sure to visit the peak with amazing views over the forest.
6. Dong Ba market
Dong Ba market is the largest market in Central Vietnam and is the perfect place to see the local life. It is a lively market hall where you can buy handicrafts, vegetables, fruit, meat and clothing.

8. Cycling
With less traffic than other major cities, Hue is arguably the best city for cycling in Vietnam. Many tourists choose to ride a bicycle along the banks of the Huong River, to the Citadel. You can also visit a number of temples a little further from the center. Some accommodations lend bicycles for free, otherwise you can rent a bicycle cheaply in the center of the city.

During the Vietnam War, there was fierce fighting in the city of Hue, which damaged many historic buildings. But the city is also adjacent to the DMZ – Vietnam’s Demilitarized Zone. Here you will find the border between the former North Vietnam and South Vietnam. There are still a number of sights that you can visit in this area where you can get an idea of how it went. On a tour of the DMZ you usually visit the Hien Luong Bridge which is right on the border, an abandoned American base with abandoned vehicles and the Vinh Moc Tunnels, a tunnel system where an entire village lived to shelter from the bombs.

10. Hue abandoned water park
Photography enthusiasts and urban explorers will want to go here. Ho Thuy Tien is a small abandoned water park on a lake not too far from the city.
The water park has been abandoned for over 10 years. Certain parts are ruins, overgrown and broken, it feels a bit like you’ve walked into a horror movie. In the middle of the lake is a dragon’s head, the main attraction. All around you will find empty swimming pools and dirty slides.
It is not an official tourist attraction and in some places there is glass on the floor, so watch out and don’t wear flip flops.

The cold mornings begin to disappear in the north and hot dry weather is expected in most of the country. North Vietnam remains an exception and feels colder. Good to know is that while traveling in February during TET (Vietnamese New Year) the majority of shops, museums and restaurants are closed for about a week.
March
This is high season for travel to Vietnam and the best time to visit. Beachgoers now have a better choice of destinations, with Mui Ne, Con Dao and Nha Trang all getting good weather. Hoi An is also a great beach destination by the end of the month. This is the perfect time to visit Halong Bay, which should have a clear blue sky without haze.
April
Like March, April is the best time to visit to travel to the country and you will see more crowds, with fantastic weather everywhere.
May
It is getting hot and May offers a wonderful opportunity to miss the April high season prices. Rain has yet to come, but by the end of the month you can expect a rain shower in the northern and southern regions.
June
You may get occasional rain in the north and south of the country, but Hanoi, Mai Chau and Halong probably have a clear blue sky most of the time. History
Binh Thuan was the home of Huyen Chan princess after she got married to the king of Champa, Jaya Sinhavarman III, in 1306. After the fall of Vijaya in 1471, Binh Thuan belonged to Vietnam. This land was also the base of Phan Chu Trinh and Tran Quy Cap during their revolution against the French in the Indochina War.
Geography
Binh Thuan is located in the south-central region of Vietnam, bordering Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau provinces and the East Sea.
Binh Thuan has the north bordering Lam Dong, the northeast to Ninh Thuan, the west to Dong Nai, and the southeast to Ba Ria – Vung Tau. The coastal line in the southwest stretches 192 km is where the community lives and works on fishing trade.
The highest point of the province lies in Tanh Linh with mountainous terrain in the northwest. The demographics in 2007 show that forests in the northwest and northeast cover 50 % of the land of Binh Thuan.
Climate
Binh Thuan has a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons: dry and rainy. The dry season lasts from December to April, while the rainy season lasts from May to November.
Located in the subtropical monsoon tropical climate, Binh Thuan is sunny, windy, and no winter. The dry season is long in Binh Thuan. It lasts from November to April of the next year, making the atmosphere fairly arid. Rain focuses in August, September, and October.
Tourism
